As well as appearing in national newspapers my writing has also been featured in a number of consumer magazines.

These include two Nottingham-based culture magazines, one of which, LeftLion, is the most widely read free magazine in the region. Among the articles I wrote were a piece on Islamophobia in British culture following on from the London bombings, and a profile of a local actress who had just had a big break in a major box-office film, Kidulthood.

The other magazine, Exposed, sadly no longer has a Nottingham office and has closed its website (although it still runs a Sheffield edition).  I wrote a raft of features for Exposed on many different topics, and was privelaged to interview several big names, including fashion designer Paul Smith, Oscar-winning actor Jim Broadbent and Nottingham’s Michelin-starred chef and star of Great British Menu Sat Bains.I wrote several restaurant, club and gig reviews as well as general features on Nottingham culture.

I did a stint of cover work at digital content agency Zone where I worked on the Film 4 site website pictures desk, researching, uploading and editing images for the web. I also assisted the editorial team with writing copy and planning weekly schedules for the website.

Among my work experience placements have been two weeks at Delicious Magazine and two weeks at the Nottingham Evening Post.
